Shawn Glover

Drum instructor - Shawn Glover

Shawn Glover lives in the Durham Region of Ontario, Canada. Shawn got his start playing drums at age 12, and quickly developed a strong passion for it. He grew up listening to mainly Rock/Hard Rock bands. To add to the list, he began finding himself later enjoying many other genres, such as Metal, Jazz, Latin and Funk. Shawn began playing in Rock bands, Metal bands, and concert brass bands (which included the genres of Jazz/Swing, Soft Rock, and Marching).During high school, Glover played in every band his high school had to offer, including Jazz band, as well as even helping out the percussion section of the junior band when he was in his senior year. After high school, Glover attended the Jazz music program at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario. Very shortly after leaving Humber, he attended a drum competition judged by industry professionals in 2004 and placed 2nd.He then returned the following year going up against even tougher competitors than the previous year, and placed 1st. Glover was even featured in an article within Modern Drummer Magazine and The Mississauga News, following the drum competition victory. It was around this time in his career that he began developing a passion for teaching private lessons. He quickly began taking on more and more students that were serious about learning how to play.Although it's easy to see that Rock music is Shawn's strongest influence, he strives to improve his musicianship and techniques by continuing to study other genres as well. He enjoys teaching Rock/Pop, Jazz, Funk, Country, Latin, and Metal, how to read drum music as well as develop an "ear" for the instrument.Shawn continues to teach and perform, striving to inspire and receive inspiration from other drummers and teachers in the industry."Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent”
- Victor Hugo

Tyler Davloor

Drum instructor - Tyler Davloor

Tyler has been playing drums since the age of 11 and has been teaching since age 17. He graduated from Berklee College of Music as a Performance major with Highest Distinction and is an active and enthusiastic educator, writer and performer. Knowledgeable in rock, pop, R&B/funk, blues, jazz, fusion and their sub-genres, Tyler is a versatile drummer called for many different live and recording sessions, and draws from all of his musical experiences to passionately serve his students. From teaching drummers in South Africa to Toronto, he tailors each lesson to the individual's interests, goals, skill level, and personality. It is important for him to learn about his students' non-musical interests so he can relate drumming to other areas of life that are important to them, be it golf, tennis, film, philosophy, or anything else, in order to help make learning music what he believes it should be: engaging, fun, challenging, enriching for the soul."Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything."
- Plato
